On June 20th, the LEED Board of Directors began the process of developing its three-year strategic plan, which will commence during the organization’s 20 year anniversary in 2012. The top line outcomes from this session included:
• Affirming the value of LEED’s strategic board expansion and formation as the Capital Area P-20 Council
• Identifying measurable goals to guide LEED’s work and the progress of the region
• Strengthening LEED’s role as a leading advocate for public education and its impact on economic development
• Investing in LEED’s current programs and scope of work – Convergence, Project Lead the Way, Career Academy Initiative, CareerGPS
• Positioning LEED’s work to attract significant funding and engagement from private, public and foundation sources, supporting the work of LEED and our education partners
Over the coming months, LEED will develop specific goals and objectives to support these broad outcomes, and the strategic plan will be distributed to LEED’s stakeholders and posted on its website.
