Currently there are many advocates in the Capital Region for education, as well as interested parties who may have concerns about education. These advocates and interested parties do not necessarily have the same agenda or may even have contradictory positions. Often groups and individuals are operating in a “data free” environment as there are few venues for players and interested parties (as well as the general public) to share information and opinions in a meaningful way.
LEED brings these voices together to promote informed support for schools from all segments of the Capital Region. While widespread consensus may not be possible, providing an opportunity for all to be informed and listen to diverse perspectives will help lead to greater understanding and promote the overall goal of helping the Capital region become the leader in preparing students for post-secondary education and training, and ultimately, advancing the region’s economy.
As an affiliate of the Sacramento Metro Chamber, LEED staffs and provides direction to the Metro Chamber’s advocacy activities in the area of workforce development and education through staffing the Workforce Development and Education committee, engagement in the Cap-to-Cap Workforce Development and Education Team, and leadership on the Annual Study Mission Trip.
