Project Lead The Way develops and delivers project-based curriculum to over 3,000 schools nationwide.  The objective of the program is to strengthen student foundation in science and engineering by providing relevant and rigorous courses that use a methodology that teaches students how to apply what they learn in a project-based format.

LEED manages the Capital Region Project Lead the Way Network, comprised of 27 Capital Region middle and high schools in eight school districts.  The Capital Region Project Lead The Way Network is comprised of Capital Region businesses, PLTW teachers and school district administrators.  The Capital Region PLTW Network strives to expand the Project Lead The Way and Gateway to Technology programs offered around the region.

The Project Lead The Way high school program and Gateway to Technology middle school program are designed to serve students of diverse backgrounds who may already interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related fields, or those who are more inspired by the application of STEM than they are by traditional math and science courses.

Project Lead The Way’s comprehensive curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and real-world problem solving. Each course curricula represents a complete package, which allows the instructor to focus on teaching, student achievement, assessment, and professional development.  The program’s Engineering classes are currently approved for A-G University of California  requirements for standard, honors, and innovative courses.
